|What a joy your book has been bringing to our MSN students! Our Dean, Dr. Lauchner, attended one of your sessions last year and we have actually formally adopted your book not only in our course, but your tools and book are the basis now for our whole MSN graduate project. They put together a business case proposal one semester, act on it the next through a Project Management Plan and reflect on the process by doing a Project Management Plan Update the final semester. We are so excited about the process and couldn’t be more delighted in the outcomes for our students. I have had the honor of completing the first project management course with them and I really am getting personally excited about having a formalized process in place that carries them between the usual “silos” of nursing education or nursing informatics; instead, they all can come together around a project. So far, students have impacted intake processes, decreased length of stays in local Emergency Rooms, and so many more!!!
Just wanted you to know how you have “planted a seed” and how your text is being utilized in our program. I appreciate all you have done to formalize the process of what we, in nursing, do every day. You have given us tools that allow nursing to interact confidently with management, administration and even the CNO, CEO and CFO to support what we do best in ways we were always struggling to communicate!
